On the podcast, I told Sarah that I listen to music that you start fights to. I love heavy drums and lots of screaming. For this Friday, Sarah asked me to share some of my favorite heavy metal songs.

Be warned, some of these may contain explicit lyrics and are certainly an assault on the senses.

One of my favorite collabs is “RATATATA” from BABYMETAL (from Japan) and Electric Callboy (from Germany). It’s one of the few heavy metal songs that even my partner enjoys.

Electric Callboy is one of my favorite bands. I was lucky enough to attend a concert last year. The energy was so good. Lots of attendees showed up in costumes from their various music videos. There was a banana man in the mosh pit. Since they brought on Nico as a lead singer, their music is sillier with an an electronica feel.

“TANZNEID” is a great song off their newest album and I often listen to it when I’m commuting into the city for work.

Lorna Shore is a deathcore band with one of the most unique vocalists. I will say that his voice is very goblin pig-esque. You’ll see what I mean when I listen. However, the instrumentals combined with the harsh vocals just really do something for me.

“Sun//Eater” is a good example of this!

Speaking of instrumentals! I love Nini Music for some amazing arrangements using traditional Chinese instruments.

For something not quite as heavy, Our Last Night does amazing rock covers of popular, trending songs. Many of their covers have made it onto my Spotify playlist.

Bilmuri is my go-to for “y’allternative” music, which blends pop punk, heavy metal, and some twang. The music videos are also goofy as hell. Last album, they just did a lost of posing around farming equipment that got progressively bigger and bigger.

Ska also makes some great pump-up music, but not necessarily for throwing punches. I’ve seen a meme that describes it as “what plays in a 13-year old kid’s head when they kit extra mozzarella sticks.”

Perhaps if I takeover a Friday Videos again, we can do some cheese stick tunes!

May Friday Videos give you an outlet for the rage!
