Happy Saturday! Here’s what we’re reading to kick off October:
Lara: It’s been two weeks and I’m still reading Jane Austen’s Bookshelf. ( A | BN | K | AB ) Partly it’s because I’m writing exams at the moment, partly it’s because it’s a hefty book and partly it’s because I’m really savouring this one. I’ve found it fascinating.
Shana: I’m halfway into Love in Focus by Lyla Lee ( A | BN | K | AB ) and loving it. It’s a sapphic second chance romance set in San Francisco. Second chance tropes aren’t usually my jam, but I’m really loving the dynamic between these two former college roommates who were thrown back together 8 years after a messy breakup.
Also one of the heroines is bi, and the bisexual rep is excellent!
Susan: I’m only seven years late to the party, but I’ve finally started Hot and Badgered by Shelly Laurenston and it’s exactly as perfect as everyone told me.
Sarah: Isn’t it exquisite mayhem? I’m so happy you’re enjoying it.
I have taken a break from Harlequin Presents. This is a sentence I can really only say here and know I’ll be understood: the virgins were wearing me out.More specifically, the emphasis on virginity.
So I’ve started the first Emma M. Lion book in audio. I’m sure it’s very similar tone wise to the Harlequin Presents I’ve been reading.
Elyse: I’m reading Public Access Afterworld which is (so far) a non gory horror novel, but the main character is a trans woman and a lot of the book is about navigating the world as a trans person.
Carrie: I’m reading the same book, I’m not as far in but I’m very invested. It’s hard for a book to grab me lately and I am super into this one and also stressed about it.
Whatcha reading? Let us know in the comments!
