Ethiopia's government retakes Mekelle after opposition fighters withdraw from Tigray capital

Government-allied fighters entered Mekelle, the capital of Ethiopia's northern Tigray region, a witness said Sunday, after the rebel Tigray People's Liberation Front announced its withdrawal following renewed fighting.
