Ok, so technically this is housekeeping about the Liking plugin, but calling it a Housekeeping of Likes is giving me a big grin, and I could use a big grin after fighting with plugins!
The short version is: the comment-liking plugin we’d been using stopped working, and usually that means something else is interfering. But because we keep dealing with pesky DDOS attempts, fixing it mostly meant it would break again.
And I know how much y’all like, uh, liking comments! I love the feature, too. So here’s the news: I’ve installed a new plugin for liking, and it is beefy. Girthy. Fulsome. It does a lot of stuff, is what I’m saying.
So now there are like buttons next to the comments, and there are like buttons (wee ones!) on reviews, posts, podcast entries, and Stuff We Like posts. Woo hoo!
Yay!
The bad news: I couldn’t preserve the like counts from the old plugin, alas. I’m sorry I couldn’t import the likes from older comments.
So if you liked a comment, you can like it again. There’s even a cute wobble where the like button does a little dance once you click it.
