Katie Wilbert is a writer and performer, she moonlights as a disco ball, and she writes television romantic comedies, including A Vineyard Christmas.
So we are going behind the scenes to explore what makes a good Christmas rom com, and what her experience as a writer is like. This is really a story about how, as Seneca allegedly said, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
Katie is currently writing for the Roku limited series “Scarlett Holmes,” starring Lucy Hale!

Support for this episode comes from the Heated Rivalry DVD and Blu-Ray release.
The hit series Heated Rivalry: Season 1 is now available on Blu-ray™ and DVD!
Do you need a reminder of what Heated Rivalry was about? Yes you do.
Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) are two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey, bound by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic pull neither of them fully understands. What begins as a secret fling between two teenagers evolves into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery.
Heated Rivalry is now on DVD & Blu-ray, featuring all six original episodes, and includes bloopers and deleted scenes.
AND! There is a limited-edition Collector’s Edition box set including all six original episodes, exclusive cast & crew interviews, art cards, a mini-poster and more! Picture is below. LOOK AT IT.
Y’all, the Collector’s Edition had to have been designed by someone who knew how to tempt me
personally and specifically because the box looks like a VHS tape, like you’d find at the video rental store. There is even a little sticker that reads “Romance” and “18+” and BE KIND REWIND. Y’all. I cannot.
The Heated Rivalry DVD makes a truly perfect gift for every loon on your list. And until 10 November 2026, you can comment to win a DVD set on our latest Gift Guide!
Happy Heated Rivalry Holiday Season!
